Speechify belongs in this directory with a caveat: it is a text-to-speech product first. Its core job is reading documents, articles, and PDFs aloud in natural voices — the direction of travel is text out as audio, not speech in as text. Dictation exists as "Voice Typing" on the Premium plan, but it's a secondary feature of a reading tool rather than the reason the product exists. If dictation is what you need, judge it on that basis.

Where it falls short
Dictation is an add-on, not the product. Voice Typing is one bullet on a Premium feature list. There's no filler-word removal, no per-app tone matching, no custom dictionary story of the kind Wispr Flow or Willow Voice build their whole product around.
$29/month is by far the most expensive here. Two to four times the dedicated dictation tools — and you're mostly paying for text-to-speech.
No dictation on the free tier at all. Free is explicitly text-to-speech only, so you can't evaluate the dictation without paying.
The discounting is aggressive. "Save 60%" framing on the yearly plan makes the real price hard to pin down; what you pay depends on when you look.
Cloud only. No offline processing.

Who it's for
People whose main need is having text read to them, who would also like dictation included. On that basis it's a strong product and the accessibility use case is real. If you came here for dictation, you're paying a large premium for a feature the vendor treats as secondary — nearly every other entry in this category does it better for less. Consider pairing a cheap dedicated dictation tool with Speechify's free tier instead.
